Virginia Foundation for Educational Leadership

The Virginia Foundation for Educational Leadership (VFEL) was founded in 1995 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to address current research and best practices in leading grades Pre-K through 16 and post-graduate academics, to address current research and best practices in school improvement, and to improve articulation between all grade levels in elementary, middle, high, and higher education. This system of learning, furthered supported by grants from such organizations as the National Governors Association and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has enabled thousands of Virginia school leaders to receive high-quality professional development in leadership, school improvement, and mentoring and coaching.  Collaborative partnerships with state and national organizations, including the Virginia Department of Education and the National Institution for School Leadership, have increased VFEL’s efforts to provide depth and breadth for a seamless system of leadership learning.  For more information, click on the links below:
